Nigeria concedes late draw against Poland in Warsaw

Nigeria missed out on another victory after settling for a dramatic 2-2 draw against Poland in an international friendly match in Warsaw. Just days after winning the Unity Cup in London, the Super Eagles once again showed attacking quality under Eric Chelle but failed to hold onto their lead in the final moments of the game.

Nigeria started the match strongly and created the better opportunities from the opening minutes. Moses Simon rewarded the Super Eagles in the 25th minute after finishing a well-worked attacking move. Poland responded just before halftime when Kacper Potulski punished a moment of defensive hesitation to level the score in stoppage time of the first half.

The Super Eagles regained control after the break and pushed forward again until Paul Onuachu converted a penalty in the 77th minute to restore Nigeria’s advantage. However, Poland refused to give up and struck once more deep into stoppage time through Przemyslow Wisniewski, who scored in the 90+5 minute to rescue a draw for the hosts.
