Ghana forward Iñaki Williams has expressed confidence that the Black Stars are on course for the FIFA World Cup Round of 32, insisting the team’s focus has now shifted to finishing at the top of Group L.
Following Ghana’s impressive start to the tournament, capped by a resilient goalless draw against England, Williams believes the Black Stars are in a strong position heading into their decisive final group match.
“I think we’re already in the Round of 32,” Williams said confidently.
Despite his optimism, the Athletic Bilbao striker stressed that Ghana are not settling for qualification alone, with the squad determined to secure first place in the group.
“We want to fight for first place in the group,” he added.
Williams’ comments reflect the growing belief within the Ghana camp after disciplined performances against Panama and England. The Black Stars now head into their final group fixture knowing another positive result could see them progress to the knockout stages and potentially finish as Group L winners.
With confidence high and qualification within reach, Ghana will be aiming to maintain their momentum as they seek another memorable World Cup achievement.
