Nottingham Forest Sack Vitor Pereira as Club Eyes New Era for Taiwo Awoniyi

Premier League side Nottingham Forest have dismissed head coach Vitor Pereira after a brief spell in charge at the City Ground, bringing another chapter of managerial instability to a close.

The 57-year-old Portuguese manager was appointed in February following the departure of Sean Dyche.

During his time at the club, Pereira guided Forest to Premier League safety and led the team to the UEFA Europa League semi-finals.

In a statement, Nottingham Forest thanked Pereira and his coaching staff for their commitment and professionalism throughout their time with the club.

Pereira’s exit continues a turbulent period for Forest, who have now gone through four permanent managers in a short span following the departures of Nuno Espírito Santo, Ange Postecoglou, Sean Dyche and now Pereira.

The managerial change is expected to have implications for Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi, who will be hoping to play a more prominent role under the club’s next manager after battling injuries and inconsistent playing time.

Awoniyi remains an important figure for Forest, and the arrival of a new coach could offer him a fresh opportunity to re-establish himself as a key attacking option.

British media reports indicate that former Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner is the leading candidate to succeed Pereira, with an official appointment expected soon.
