Scotland lose 1-0 to Ivory Coast in Friendly

Scotland suffered a second defeat of the international break, falling 1-0 to Ivory Coast in Liverpool, England.

Despite more intent than in Saturday’s loss to Japan, the Tartan Army struggled to create chances in attack.

Nicolas Pépé scored for Ivory Coast in the 12th minute, and Scotland were unable to respond.

Manager Steve Clarke handed fringe players opportunities in a 3-5-2 formation, but the team lacked the quality to find an equalizer.

Scotland now have two more warm-up games before their return to the World Cup for the first time in 28 years, drawn with Haiti, Morocco, and Brazil.
