After his loan spell at Bayern Munich last season, Nicolas Jackson could finally get another opportunity to establish himself at Chelsea. The Senegalese striker is expected to join the Blues for their pre-season tour, where he will try to impress new manager Xabi Alonso.
According to The Athletic, Chelsea have yet to make a decision regarding the future of their attacking options. The London club must determine which striker will leave the squad from among Nicolas Jackson, Liam Delap, and Emmanuel Emegha.
The decision is expected after pre-season. Having spent last season on loan at Bayern Munich, the Senegalese international made around 30 appearances for the Bavarian club. The pre-season tour therefore represents an opportunity for him to impress and earn the trust of his new manager.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Chelsea’s management wants to first evaluate the various options before making a final decision regarding their attack.
Having joined the Blues from Villarreal in 2023, Nicolas Jackson is under contract with Chelsea until 2033. The Senegalese international will need to use this preseason period to impress Xabi Alonso and try to regain a place in the London club’s squad.
