Roberto De Zerbi has quickly found a new challenge, taking charge of Tottenham Hotspur just weeks after leaving Olympique de Marseille. The London club parted ways with Igor Tudor following a disappointing spell marked by poor results and internal tensions.
His controversial decisions, notably during the clash against Atlรฉtico de Madrid, further weakened his position before a mutual agreement sealed his departure.
Tottenham moved swiftly to identify a successor, with De Zerbi emerging as the top candidate ahead of other profiles like Mauricio Pochettino. Highly regarded for his attacking philosophy and previous experience in the Premier League, the Italian coach had initially preferred to wait until the end of the season before returning to management. However, the urgency of Spursโ situation and the scale of the challenge convinced him to take the job immediately.
The club officially confirmed his appointment in a statement, announcing that he has signed a long-term contract, pending a work permit. De Zerbi now returns to England, where he previously impressed with Brighton, with a clear mission: stabilize Tottenham and steer them away from relegation danger while laying the foundations for a new project.
