The Ghana Football Association has officially announced the Black Queens’ 26-player squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, with head coach Kim Lars Björkegren naming a blend of experienced stars and emerging talents for the continental showpiece.
The squad features a strong core of players who have impressed during the team’s preparations, including captain Cynthia Konlan, Doris Boaduwaa, Grace Asantewaa, Alice Kusi and Princella Adubea, all expected to play key roles in Ghana’s quest for continental glory.
Goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan has been handed the iconic No. 1 jersey, while defender Simon takes the No. 2 shirt and midfielder Stella Duah wears No. 3. Opoku has been assigned the No. 4 jersey, with Grace Asantewaa taking No. 5.
In midfield and attack, Boaduwaa will wear the No. 9 shirt, Adubea takes No. 10, Alice Kusi has No. 11, and Nyamekye wears No. 14. Young talents such as Princess, Boye-Hlorkah, Kim, Wasima and Sampson have also earned places in the final squad.
The Black Queens head into the tournament buoyed by an impressive run of form, having rounded off their preparations with a convincing 4-0 victory over Malawi in an international friendly, where Doris Boaduwaa produced a superb hat-trick.
With the squad now confirmed, attention shifts to Morocco, where Ghana will be aiming to make a strong impact and challenge for their first-ever WAFCON title.
