Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, Onoriode Oborevwori, has paid a morale-boosting visit to Delta athletes representing Nigeria at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Scotland, applauding their efforts and urging them to maintain their impressive form throughout the competition.
Addressing the athletes, Oborevwori praised their hard work and determination, saying their performances had reflected the rich sporting tradition of Delta State.
“You have displayed commitment, courage and pride while representing both Delta State and Nigeria. What you have achieved so far is encouraging, and I believe you are capable of even greater success,” he said.

He encouraged the athletes not to lose focus as the Games enter a crucial stage, reminding them that their achievements continue to inspire young sportsmen and women back home.
“Keep believing in yourselves, stay disciplined and give your best in every event. The people of Delta State are proud of you and are cheering you on every step of the way,” he added.
Oborevwori also reaffirmed the Delta State Government’s resolve to strengthen sports development under Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, saying the administration recognises the value of investing in athletes and creating an environment where they can excel.
“Governor Sheriff Oborevwori remains passionate about the growth of sports in Delta State.
“His administration will keep supporting athlete development, improving sporting infrastructure and providing the resources needed for our talents to compete successfully on the world stage.”
He assured the athletes that the state would continue to stand behind them, describing sports as an important platform for youth development, excellence and projecting Delta State positively across the globe.
“Our goal is to keep producing champions and giving talented athletes every opportunity to realise their full potential. Delta State will remain at the forefront of sports development in Nigeria,” he said.
