Strasbourg Step Up Pursuit of Ghana’s Caleb Yirenkyi as BlueCo Plots Long-Term Chelsea Path

French side Strasbourg are intensifying their efforts to sign highly-rated Ghanaian midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi from Danish club FC Nordsjaelland during the summer transfer window.

The 20-year-old has emerged as one of the most sought-after young midfielders in Europe following his rapid development, with Strasbourg now pushing hard to secure his signature.

The move is understood to be backed by BlueCo, the ownership group that controls both Chelsea and Strasbourg. Under the proposed plan, Yirenkyi would continue his development in Ligue 1 before potentially earning a future switch to Stamford Bridge.

However, negotiations are expected to be challenging, with Nordsjaelland standing firm on their €30 million valuation of the Ghana international. The Danish club’s asking price reflects the midfielder’s impressive rise and the growing interest he has attracted from clubs across Europe.

Yirenkyi’s composure in midfield, technical quality and maturity beyond his years have made him one of Ghana’s brightest emerging talents, with his performances continuing to enhance his reputation on the continental stage.

Should Strasbourg meet Nordsjaelland’s valuation, the transfer could represent another significant investment by BlueCo in one of Africa’s most promising young footballers while laying the groundwork for a possible future move to Chelsea.
