Ghana U-20 head coach Maxwell Konadu has called for focus and resilience from his side as they prepare for a decisive Group B encounter against Burkina Faso at the ongoing WAFU Zone B U-20 Championship in Ivory Coast.
The Black Satellites enter the match under pressure following their opening defeat to Nigeria, but Konadu insists the team has moved on mentally and is fully prepared for the challenge ahead.
“We have prepared the boys psychologically and physically… What happened on Monday, we’ve kept that behind us. It’s past and gone. There is nothing we can do about it,” he said. “The assignment ahead of us is important and crucial for all of us.”
The former Ghana international acknowledged the nerves that affected some players in the opening game, noting that many are experiencing the competition for the first time. However, he expressed confidence in their recovery and readiness.
“Most of the boys are new to this tournament, so some were a bit jittery. The players have recovered and are ready to face Burkina” Konadu added.
With qualification hopes hanging in the balance, Ghana will be aiming for a strong response as they seek to revive their campaign and keep their ambitions alive.
