Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren believes Ghana will face a significantly tougher challenge against Cameroon than they did in their opening group-stage victory over Cape Verde.
Speaking ahead of the crucial encounter, the Swedish tactician acknowledged the quality and experience within the Cameroonian side but expressed complete confidence in his players’ ability to rise to the occasion.
“It’s going to be a tough game against Cameroon, but I know my team very well and I believe in them,” Bjorkegren said. “A difficult opponent usually means that we are a better Ghana team.”
The coach expects the Indomitable Lionesses to provide a sterner examination after Ghana’s encouraging start to the competition, describing Cameroon as a more complete side than Cape Verde.
“I expect Cameroon to be one level up than Cape Verde. We’re going to play against a good Cameroon team with experienced players,” he added.
Despite the respect shown to their opponents, Bjorkegren remains optimistic that the Black Queens can deliver another strong performance. His comments reflect a blend of caution and confidence as Ghana prepares for what could be one of its biggest tests of the group stage.
A positive result against Cameroon would further strengthen the Black Queens’ position and underline their ambitions of making a deep run in the tournament.
