Uganda Premier League: Ibrahim Kasule signs for KCCA FC

Ugandan Premier League side KCCA FC have announced the signing of dynamic midfielder Ibrahim Owen Kasule on a two-year contract.

The 22-year-old playmaker returns to the Uganda Premier League following a prolific spell abroad, adding elite creative flair and high-level scoring output to the Cityzens.

Kasule’s arrival gives KCCA FC a proven engine in the middle of the park. Known for his vision, sharp passing range, and intelligence in front of goal, the midfielder brings a plethora of attributes to this KCCA FC side.

Speaking to the club media, Kasule had this to say.

For me, joining KCCA FC feels like coming to a club with great ambition. I have gained invaluable experience and exposure during my time in the United States and abroad, and I want to use everything I have learned to help this team achieve great things. The project here is exciting, and I cannot wait to play in front of the yellow army at Lugogo.

KCCA FC Head Coach Brian Ssenyondo had this to say about the player.

“Kasule is a special talent and a player who perfectly fits the identity we are building at KCCA FC. He brings exceptional quality on the ball, sharpness in the final third, and the composure needed in games. I believe his time playing in the MLS system has matured him significantly. Having a player of his caliber in midfield gives us new tactical dimensions.”

Ibrahim Kasule joins KCCA FC from Red Bull New York in the Major League Soccer in the USA. Kasule also had a loan stint at Connecticut United FC, a club he joined earlier this year. At Red Bull New York II, Kasule scored 28 goals in 64 matches in MLS Next Pro, a feat that earned him promotion to the Red Bull New York senior side.

Kasule is equally comfortable operating as an attacking midfielder, central midfielder, or drifting out wide and comes to KCCA FC with experience and international exposure from top setups in the United States.

Ibrahim’s career began in the grassroots circuits of Uganda before quickly rising through the ranks.

He has previously featured for Wakiso Giants FC, where he spent three seasons. His breakout season was the 2022–23 UPL season, where he scored 5 goals and recorded 6 assists in just 14 games.

He had a brief stint at Turkey’s Ankara Keçiörengücü before he joined New York Red Bulls II & New York Red Bulls from 2023 to 2026. Kasule dominated in the MLS Next Pro, winning Player of the Month for July 2023 and earning a spot in the MLS Next Pro Best XI (2023).

He later on earned a senior MLS debut for the New York Red Bulls against the New England Revolution. For the senior National Team, Kasule earned his first national team call-up in September 2023 against Niger.
