Zambia will kick off their 2027 AFCON qualifying campaign away to Algeria today, 25th September 2026, with the Chipolopolo boys looking to start the campaign on a positive note and pick up their first win of 2026.
George Lwandamina is expected to name a strong starting XI capable of matching Algeria’s quality and competing for all three points. The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) confirmed that all tickets for the highly anticipated encounter have been snapped up, setting the stage for a packed stadium when the two sides meet.
The match kicks off at 20:00 local time in Algeria, or 21:00 CAT. The fixture will mark Algeria’s first competitive match under new head coach Brahim Hemdani, who has been putting the Fennecs through their final preparations ahead of the opening Group I encounter.
Algeria completed their final training session on Thursday at the National Technical Centre in Sidi Moussa. The Chipolopolo have been working in Tizi Ouzou throughout the week as they prepare to face the North Africans, with captain Fashion Sakala and coach Lwandamina both expressing confidence in the squad ahead of the encounter.
