AFCON 2027 Qualifiers: Aït-Nouri could miss Algeria’s double-header against Togo

Rayan Aït-Nouri could miss Algeria’s upcoming double-header against Togo after failing to apologize for an incident during the September international break. The Manchester City left-back reportedly remains at odds with the coaching staff ahead of the November qualifiers.

According to La Gazette du Fennec, Algerian staff expected Aït-Nouri to apologize for his conduct during the Fennecs’ 3-1 victory over Zambia in the AFCON 2027 qualifying campaign. The coaching staff reportedly considered a public statement, but several weeks after the incident, the defender has yet to address the matter publicly.

Sources close to the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) also indicate that Aït-Nouri has not apologized privately. This has reportedly prompted Brahim Hemdani to leave him out of his plans for the November international break, when Algeria will face Togo twice. The coach had reportedly made an apology the condition for resolving the dispute, but the issue remains unsettled.
