UEFA has confirmed two major rule changes that will take effect across its club competitions ahead of the 2026/27 season, including the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Conference League.
One of the changes concerns player suspensions for yellow cards. Under the revised rules, players will now receive a one-match suspension only after collecting four yellow cards, instead of the previous limit of three.
The European football governing body has also scrapped its long-standing policy that prevented stadium clocks from displaying time beyond the 45th and 90th minutes.
Going forward, match clocks will continue running into added time, providing fans with a clearer indication of the actual time being played.
The new regulations have been communicated to member associations and participating clubs ahead of the start of the new campaign.
Meanwhile, the draw for the UEFA Champions League play-off round has already been concluded, with the decisive fixtures scheduled to take place later this month as clubs battle for places in the league phase.
