Ghana’s U-17 side produced a commanding first-half display to take a deserved 2-0 lead against Algeria in Rabat, with the Black Starlets controlling proceedings from the opening whistle to the halftime break.
The West Africans wasted no time stamping their authority on the game as Yao Gavi Robinho struck inside three minutes to hand Ghana an early advantage. The forward reacted brilliantly in attack to put the Black Starlets ahead and silence the Algerian supporters.
Ghana continued to dictate the tempo with aggressive pressing, quick passing and dangerous attacking movements, leaving Algeria struggling to settle into the game.
The second goal arrived in spectacular fashion in the 10th minute when Eric Adu Gyamfi unleashed a thunderous long-range effort that flew past the Algerian goalkeeper to double Ghana’s lead. The stunning strike capped an electric opening spell from the Black Starlets.
Algeria attempted to respond but Ghana remained compact defensively while continuing to threaten on the counterattack. The Black Starlets controlled possession and looked the sharper side throughout the first half.
At the break, Ghana hold a comfortable 2-0 advantage and appear firmly in control of the encounter in Rabat.
