Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Frederick Ansah has offered a candid comparison between his playing days at the club and the current state of the team, pointing to a noticeable decline in internal competition and overall quality.
Speaking in a recent interview, Ansah looked back fondly on his time with the Phobians, describing an environment where competition for places was intense and standards were consistently high. According to him, that level of internal rivalry pushed players to perform at their very best week in, week out.
“I liked my time when I was in Hearts of Oak,” Ansah said. “The competition was there, the level was high. Compared to them now, it’s okay, but during my time, the competition was very high compared to now.”
