Senegal’s women’s basketball team received a major boost on Thursday as point guard Cierra Dillard officially made her return to the national team.
She is taking part in the training camp in preparation for the pre-qualifying tournament for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
This return marks the end of a long absence for the player. After initially announcing her retirement from international play following Afrobasket 2025, she subsequently missed the 2026 World Cup qualifiers due to an injury.
This is a major boost for head coach Cheikh Sarr. With her experience, leadership, and offensive impact, Cierra Dillard returns to the national team to bring a real creative and strategic spark to the Senegalese squad.
