Goalkeeper Alaa Belarouch did not hide his great joy after receiving his first call-up to join the Moroccan senior national team, noting that this experience holds a different significance for him compared to his previous appearances with the national youth teams.
In an interview with the official website of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Belarouch explained that he received the news of his call-up immediately after a training session with his club, emphasizing that he was overjoyed by this long-awaited development.
The Moroccan goalkeeper said that wearing the senior national team jersey gives him a special feeling, even though he has previously represented national teams at the youth levels, noting that the atmosphere within the senior squad is different, especially given the presence of players he has worked with before and for whom he has great respect.
Belarouch also expressed his delight at working alongside such talented goalkeepers as Mounir El Kajoui, Youssef El Taknaoui, and Yassine Bounou, noting that being among them presents an important opportunity to learn and gain more experience during this training camp.
Regarding upcoming matches, the goalkeeper emphasized the importance of the two games against Gabon and Lesotho, stressing that the national team players are determined to give their all to secure victory in both matches before shifting their focus to preparing for the friendly match scheduled later.
In closing, Belarouch addressed the Moroccan fans, calling on them to turn out in force to support the national team in the matches in Rabat and Tangier, saying: “We hope the fans will come out to support usβ¦ Always Morocco.”
