Benjamin Asare has called for unity and togetherness within the Ghana national football team camp ahead of the Black Stars’ international friendly against Wales national football team.
Speaking before the encounter, the goalkeeper stressed the importance of maintaining harmony within the squad regardless of individual selections, insisting that collective success must remain the team’s top priority.
“If the coach starts another goalkeeper, it doesn’t mean that because I’m the number one, I should be angry,” Asare said.
The shot-stopper emphasised the need for mutual support and a positive atmosphere within the team as Ghana continue preparations for future international competitions, including the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
“We have to stay prayerful and united for collective success,” he added.
Asare’s comments are expected to resonate positively within the Black Stars camp, particularly as competition for places intensifies across all departments of the squad.
The friendly against Wales is seen as another important test for Ghana as the technical team assesses options and builds momentum ahead of crucial assignments later in the year.
