CAF Confederation Cup: 16 clubs set for group stage

The 16 teams for the CAF Confederation Cup group stage are taking shape, with clubs from across the continent preparing for the next phase. Togo will count on ASKO, while Morocco, Tanzania and Algeria could feature multiple representatives, depending on the outcome of the remaining qualifying tie.

The qualified sides include Al Ahly of Egypt, USM Alger of Algeria, AS FAR and Raja Casablanca of Morocco, CS Sfaxien of Tunisia, and Tanzanian duo Azam FC and Singida Black Stars. Other confirmed participants include Al Ahli Tripoli of Libya, Black Bulls of Mozambique, Real Bamako of Mali, AS Maniema Union of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Durban City of South Africa, Zambia’s Red Arrows, and Angola’s Primeiro de Agosto. CR Belouizdad could also join the group stage, depending on the result of its qualifying contest involving AS Douanes or Hafia FC.

The draw will take place on October 28 and determine the groups for the next stage of the competition. Clubs will then discover their opponents and begin assessing their routes toward the knockout rounds. For ASKO, the draw will mark an important step in its campaign to represent Togolese football on the continental stage.
