Phiona Nabulime has enjoyed a successful 2025/26 season after helping FC Masar win both the Egyptian Women’s Premier League title and the Egypt Women’s Cup.

The Uganda Senior Women’s National Team midfielder described the campaign as one of growth, consistency and achievement after securing a domestic double and retaining the league title for a second successive season.

She also featured in the CAF Women’s Champions League where FC Masar reached the semi-finals, gaining valuable continental experience. Nabulime said the season carried special meaning for her development.

She said ‘The season in Egypt has been very special for me’

She added ‘Winning both the league and the cup was a big achievement and defending the league title for the second time with Masar made it even more memorable. Playing in the CAF Women’s Champions League also helped me grow in experience and confidence. I can describe it as successful, challenging and full of growth’

The midfielder said the success reflects her hard work and discipline over the years. She said ‘These two trophies mean everything to me at this stage of my career’

She added ‘They are a reward for hard work, discipline and sacrifice I have made over the years. Winning again shows consistency and growth at a high level in Egypt and in the CAF Women’s Champions League. It motivates me to keep improving and aiming higher in my career’

Since joining the Egyptian side from Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC in 2024, Nabulime has highlighted the tactical and physical demands of football in Egypt. She said ‘Adapting to football in Egypt was a very good experience for me because the game here is quite different from Uganda’

She added ‘There is strong focus on tactical preparation before matches. You already understand the opponent and the demands of the game before stepping on the pitch. This helps you improve technically and tactically’

She pointed to the high standards of professionalism within the league and continental competitions.
