Estrela da Amadora produced a thrilling comeback at the Estádio da Madeira, overcoming C.D. Nacional 3–2 in a pulsating Primeira Liga encounter inspired by the creative brilliance of Eddy Doué and the attacking threat of Nigerian forward Abraham Marcus.
Nacional made the perfect start when Wesley Gasolina opened the scoring in the third minute, converting William Kokolo’s assist to put the hosts ahead.
Estrela responded before the break, with Ianis Stoica restoring parity from the penalty spot in first-half stoppage time.
The visitors then turned the match around shortly after the hour mark, with Doué providing the spark. The midfielder spotted Marcus’ run and delivered a perfectly weighted pass, allowing the Nigerian attacker to finish clinically in the 62nd minute and give Estrela a 2–1 lead.
Marcus continued to trouble the Nacional defence with his pace and direct running, stretching the hosts’ backline and creating space for Estrela’s attacking players.
However, Nacional refused to surrender and quickly restored parity. Pablo Ruan struck in the 66th minute after being set up by Igor Liziero, making it 2–2 and setting up a tense finale.
Doué once again proved decisive eight minutes from time. The midfielder produced another incisive pass to release substitute Leandro Antonetti, who calmly finished in the 83rd minute to restore Estrela’s advantage.
Nacional pushed for another equaliser in the closing stages but could not find a response as Estrela held on for a valuable 3–2 victory.
Doué finished the contest with two assists, orchestrating Estrela’s decisive attacking moments, while Marcus’ goal and energetic display on the flank underlined his importance to the visitors.
The comeback victory sees Estrela Amadora leave Madeira with all three points after a match in which Doué’s creativity and Marcus’ finishing proved crucial.
