Egyptian Premier League Champions to Earn $1 Million as Prize Money in 2026/27

The Egyptian Premier League is set for a major financial boost after the Egyptian Professional Clubs Association announced a significant increase in prize money for the 2026/27 season, with the league champions to receive EGP 50 million (approximately $1 million).

The announcement represents a tenfold rise from the previous champions’ reward. Following their triumph in the 2025/26 campaign, Zamalek SC received the standard winners’ prize of EGP 5 million, valued at about $100,000.

According to the league organisers, the enhanced prize fund is made possible by a new sponsorship agreement designed to strengthen the financial position of clubs across the Egyptian top flight.

Beyond rewarding the eventual champions, the revised financial structure will also provide increased support for other participating clubs.

League administrators believe the initiative will improve competitiveness, encourage greater investment in teams, and enhance the overall commercial appeal of the Egyptian Premier League.

The move is also expected to attract more sponsors and investors while helping clubs improve player welfare, infrastructure, and long-term development.

The decision underscores the Egyptian league’s ambition to establish itself as one of Africa’s most commercially viable domestic competitions through stronger sponsorship deals, improved revenue distribution, and enhanced financial incentives for clubs.
