Pyramids FC head coach Rulani Mokwena has underlined the club’s ambition, insisting the Egyptian side is determined to compete for major honours while carving out its own identity in the country’s football landscape.
Mokwena acknowledged the rich history of Egyptian giants Al Ahly and Zamalek but believes Pyramids are steadily establishing a history of their own.
“Pyramids is an ambitious team and we will compete for titles,” Mokwena said.
The South African coach noted that while Al Ahly and Zamalek have built their reputations over several decades, Pyramids are now working to create a distinct legacy.
“Al Ahly and Zamalek have a great history built over decades. Pyramids is now making its own history and creating its own unique mark.”
Mokwena also praised the club’s management for its efforts to strengthen Pyramids both on and off the pitch, particularly in developing football and expanding the club’s supporter base.
“The Pyramids management deserves thanks for what it is doing to develop football and build a fan base for the team.”
His comments reflect Pyramids’ growing ambition to challenge Egypt’s traditional powerhouses and establish themselves as a major force in Egyptian and African football.
