El-Kanemi Warriors Edge Ikorodu City to Lift President Federation Cup

El-Kanemi Warriors have emerged champions of the President Federation Cup after defeating Ikorodu City 1-0 in a hard-fought final.

The Maiduguri-based side claimed the title thanks to a first-half penalty converted by Muktar Ismail, whose composed finish proved to be the difference between the two teams.

Both sides battled intensely throughout the encounter, with Ikorodu City pressing for an equaliser after the break.

However, El-Kanemi Warriors remained disciplined at the back and held on to preserve their slender advantage until the final whistle.

The victory crowns an impressive Federation Cup campaign for El-Kanemi Warriors and earns them one of Nigeria’s tickets to next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.

Despite falling short in the final, Ikorodu City will also represent Nigeria in the CAF Confederation Cup next season, joining the cup winners on the continental stage.

The triumph marks another memorable achievement for El-Kanemi Warriors, who demonstrated resilience and determination to reclaim one of Nigerian football’s most prestigious domestic trophies while booking a return to African club competition.
