Elye Wahi returns to Nice with €15m buy option

Elye Wahi has officially returned to OGC Nice on a season-long loan from Eintracht Frankfurt. The €1.5 million deal includes a €15 million option to buy.

The Ivorian striker enjoyed a strong spell with Nice last season, scoring nine goals and providing two assists in 19 appearances. His performances convinced the club to bring him back after a difficult spell in Germany.

Nice sporting director Roger Ricot wanted Wahi to strengthen Olivier Pantaloni’s attack. The 23-year-old previously scored 49 goals and provided 14 assists in 139 Ligue 1 appearances. He also helped Nice reach the Coupe de France final and secure their Ligue 1 survival last season. His return gives the club another major attacking option as they target a stronger campaign and a return to European competition.
