FAZ President Mweemba hails Red Arrows’ ABSA Cup triumph

Football Association of Zambia president, Keith Mweemba has hailed Red Arrows Football Club after their commanding 2-0 victory over Power Dynamos Football Club in the 2025/26 ABSA Cup final.

Mweemba praised the Airmen for a season built on resilience, discipline and consistency, as they crowned their impressive campaign with silverware and qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup.

“This remarkable achievement reflects the hard work, excellence and competitive spirit that Red Arrows have demonstrated throughout the season,” said Mweemba.

The FAZ chief also commended the players, technical bench, management and supporters for bringing pride to Zambian football, adding that the club is well placed to represent the nation with distinction on the continental stage.

This is contained in a congratulatory letter from the Football Association of Zambia addressed to Red Arrows Football Club and available to the team media team today.

Meanwhile, Red Arrows Football Club president, Col Moses Kambimbi has thanked FAZ president for the commendation saying the recognition demonstrates the contributions Red Arrows Football Club brings to the Zambian game.

And Red Arrows Football Club Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Lt Col Kambani Ronald Lungu has welcomed FAZ’s gesture and is confident of their continued support even as the Airmen gear up to represent the country in the CAF Confederation Cup this season.

The Airmen finished the 2025/26 season strong as Absa Cup Champions and Runners Up in the MTN super League.
