FIFA U-17 World Cup: Zambia Copper Princesses have landed in Rabat

Copper Princesses have landed in Rabat ahead of their international camp preceding the U-17 FIFA Women World Cup which kicks off on 17 October in Morocco.

The team touched down at the Aeropot Rabat Sale at 08h50 local time. The team has proceeded to Casablanca where they will lay in wait for the 9 October international friendly match against China as the first international friendly.

Zambia is in Group D alongside France, Japan and Venezuela with top two teams making it out of the pool. Coach Carol Kanyemba has selected 21 players for the tournament including England based Jessica Johnson who is on the books of Aston Villa.

FAZ deputy general secretary Iva Lengwe and Western Province Women Representative Theresa Lyainga are part of the delegation.

FAZ has organized a 10-day international camp with at least two international friendly matches for the Copper Princesses as they prepare for the World Cup which will run from 17 October to 7 November. Coach Carol Kanyemba and her technical bench have qualified the U17 Women National Team to three successive FIFA World Cups in 2024, 2025 and 2026.
