Flying Eagles Pair Named in WAFU B U-20 Group Stage Best XI

Two Flying Eagles players, Alfred Odinaka and Abdulmuiz Adeleke, have been included in the Best XI of the group stage at the ongoing WAFU B U-20 Championship.

The tournament’s Technical Study Group (TSG) announced the selection after the conclusion of the group phase, recognising the competition’s top performers.

Odinaka earned his place in defence following a string of solid displays for the defending champions, while Adeleke was rewarded for his impressive attacking form.

Adeleke has scored four goals in three matches, placing him among the tournament’s leading scorers.

He netted twice in Nigeria’s 4-2 victory over Ghana before adding another brace in the Flying Eagles’ convincing 3-0 win against Togo.

Burkina Faso and hosts Côte d’Ivoire each have three players in the Group Stage Best XI, while Nigeria contributed two representatives.

Niger, Ghana and Togo each have one player in the team. Although Nigeria finished second in Group B after a 2-0 defeat to Burkina Faso, the Flying Eagles advanced to the semi-finals, where they will face hosts Côte d’Ivoire on Wednesday.
