Ghana Football Association Sets Sights on Barcelona Prodigy Jesse Bisiwu

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has launched an ambitious effort to secure the international future of FC Barcelona’s rising winger Jesse Bisiwu, initiating direct contact with the teenager’s camp multiple times over recent months.

GFA hierarchy and technical directors are actively considering calling the fast-rising wide man into the Black Stars senior squad. His explosive wing play and sharp tactical awareness in Spain’s youth setup have made him a top priority for Ghana’s national team selectors looking to strengthen their attacking options on the world stage.

Born in Belgium to Ghanaian parents, Bisiwu remains fully eligible to represent Ghana at the senior international level. While the gifted winger has previously represented Belgium’s Under-17 national side, FIFA eligibility guidelines leave the door wide open for a nationality switch since he has yet to feature in a competitive senior international fixture for the European nation.

Discussions between the GFA leadership and Bisiwu’s representatives have intensified in recent weeks. Ghana’s pitch centers on offering the youngster a direct pathway into senior international football, giving him the chance to play an integral role in the Black Stars’ upcoming continental and global campaigns.

However, Ghana’s proactive chase has raised alarm bells in Europe. The Royal Belgian Football Association is fully aware of the GFA’s repeated contact and is actively monitoring the situation. Belgian football executives are determined not to lose one of their most promising academy products without a fight and are evaluating their own steps to keep the player within their national team pipeline.

If Bisiwu opts to pledge his allegiance to Ghana, he will join a growing contingent of European-based dual-nationals who have chosen to wear the iconic shirt of the four-time African champions. For now, the decision ultimately rests with the teenager and his family, but the GFA’s relentless approach underlines their determination to bring Barcelona’s raw talent into the national fold.
