Gideon Mensah Completes Free Transfer to FC Köln

Ghana international Gideon Mensah has officially completed his move to German Bundesliga side FC Köln, joining the club on a free transfer ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The 27-year-old left-back has signed a long-term contract with the German outfit, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his career after becoming a free agent.

Mensah arrives at FC Köln with a wealth of experience at both club and international level, having represented the Black Stars at the FIFA World Cup. His versatility, defensive discipline, and attacking contributions from the left flank are expected to strengthen Köln’s squad as they prepare for the new Bundesliga campaign.

The move ends speculation surrounding the defender’s future, with FC Köln securing the signature of one of Ghana’s most experienced full-backs without paying a transfer fee.

Mensah now becomes the latest Ghanaian to feature in the Bundesliga and will be hoping to make an impact as FC Köln target a successful season in Germany’s top flight.
