Gideon Mensah Set to Join 1. FC Köln on Four-Year Contract

Ghana international Gideon Mensah is set to continue his career in Germany after reaching a full agreement with Bundesliga side 1. FC Köln.

The 27-year-old left-back has agreed a contract that will keep him at the club until 2029, with only the completion of a scheduled medical on Friday standing between him and the official announcement.

Mensah joins 1. FC Köln as a free agent following the expiration of his previous contract, bringing valuable experience at both club and international level.

The defender recently featured for the Black Stars at the FIFA World Cup, where he played a key role in Ghana’s campaign. His arrival is expected to strengthen Köln’s defensive options ahead of the new Bundesliga season.

The move concludes weeks of transfer speculation surrounding the Ghanaian, who had attracted interest from several clubs before opting for a move to the German outfit.

With a four-year deal agreed and a medical set to take place on Friday, Gideon Mensah’s switch to Die Geißböcke is now considered a done deal, with an official unveiling expected shortly.
