FC Ashantigold have terminated the contracts of head coach and technical director Abdul Karim Kabutey Zito, assistant coach Ernest Okyere and goalkeepers’ trainer Robert Dabo with immediate effect.
The Ghanaian club announced the decision in an official statement dated Tuesday, October 27, 2026, following a consultative meeting held by its Interim Management Committee on Monday, October 26.
Zito, who served as both head coach and technical director, leaves the club alongside Okyere and Dabo as management moves to make changes to the technical department.
The decision comes as the club looks to reorganise its technical setup, although management did not disclose specific reasons for the termination of the three officials’ contracts.
In the statement, FC Ashantigold confirmed that a caretaker coach had been appointed to oversee the team’s affairs until a substantive head coach and technical director are appointed.
The interim arrangement is expected to ensure continuity in the team’s preparations and competitive activities while the club works towards filling the vacant positions.
Management also expressed gratitude to the departing officials for their contributions and service to the club, wishing them success in their future endeavours.
The announcement marks a significant change in FC Ashantigold’s technical leadership, with attention now turning to the identity of the caretaker coach and the club’s search for permanent replacements.
