Former Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Poku has appeared to respond to his departure from the club by posting a cryptic message on social media, days after reports emerged that he was among the players set to leave as part of the club’s squad overhaul.
In a social media post, Poku suggested that he had remained silent despite feeling wronged, hinting that he would eventually reveal his side of the story.
“We can’t tell ourselves the truth, so we keep lying to ourselves. But if you want to act like you can fight for your right, peace and your future, you are tagged the bad one. So let’s kick you out. I’m not a coward, I will speak at the right time. Who Jah bless,” the message read.
The post has sparked speculation among supporters, with many interpreting it as a response to his exit from the Porcupine Warriors. However, Poku did not directly mention Asante Kotoko or any club official in his statement.
The 31-year-old forward is expected to leave Kotoko after scoring four goals in 16 appearances following his return to the club in 2025. His departure forms part of a wider restructuring exercise being undertaken by head coach Eric Tinkler and Director of Football Stanley Menzo ahead of the 2026/27 season.
While the circumstances surrounding his exit remain unclear, Poku’s latest remarks suggest there may be more to the story, with the experienced striker indicating that he intends to address the situation publicly when the time is right.
