Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Björkegren says the team is gradually building up for their LA 2028 Olympic Games qualifying tie against Mauritius, with preparations still at an early stage.
The Black Queens arrived on Monday, October 5, and have since begun preparations for the first leg of the two-legged encounter, scheduled for Thursday, October 8. With players reporting at different times, Björkegren has opted for a measured approach as the squad works towards full readiness.
“The training today was really soft; we are still waiting for some other players,” Björkegren said, highlighting the need to manage the squad carefully as more players join the team.
The Swedish coach is expected to intensify preparations once the full squad is assembled, with the Black Queens aiming to secure a positive result in the first leg before completing the tie in the return fixture.
