Liverpool step up interest in PSG star Ibrahim Mbaye

Liverpool have joined the race for Ibrahim Mbaye and could soon open talks with Paris Saint-Germain over the Senegalese winger. The 18-year-old has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, including Aston Villa, Tottenham and Manchester City. Mbaye has made 42 appearances for PSG this season, scoring four goals and providing four assists, but his future in Paris looks increasingly uncertain despite a contract running until 2028.

Mbaye’s relationship with PSG has reportedly deteriorated in recent months. Luis Enrique dropped the young forward from his squad after questioning his intensity in training, although Mbaye finished the season strongly. With several English clubs monitoring his situation, Liverpool have now accelerated their pursuit and reportedly plan to contact PSG to discuss a potential transfer. The Reds could offer Mbaye an attractive opportunity as they look to strengthen their options on the wings.

PSG are expected to demand between €40 million and €50 million for the highly rated teenager. Liverpool’s interest also comes as the club searches for attacking reinforcements following Mohamed Salah’s departure. The Reds have also explored a move for Bradley Barcola, but PSG’s asking price has complicated that deal. Mbaye could therefore emerge as a more concrete target, although Liverpool still face strong competition for his signature.
