Mauritanian international El Hadj Ba has officially announced his retirement from soccer, bringing an end to a distinguished career spanning more than 25 years.
Having started playing at the age of six with CSL Aulnay, his professional career took him to several renowned European clubs, including Le Havre, Sunderland, Lens, and Sochaux, before coming to an end with FC Nouadhibou.
After playing for France’s youth national teams (U18, U19, and U20), the midfielder followed his heart by joining the Mauritanian national team.
In his farewell message, he warmly thanked the Federation’s president, Ahmed Yahya, for his trust and for the opportunity to represent the Mourabitounes.
Visibly moved as he hung up his cleats, the player expressed his deep gratitude to his family, coaches, and teammates for helping him fulfill this childhood dream.
He also noted that his departure from the field did not mark the end of his relationship with soccer, but rather the beginning of a whole new chapter.
