Rulani Mokwena has set his sights firmly on silverware with Al Ittihad, acknowledging both the pressure and potential that come with leading one of Libya’s biggest clubs.
“This is a big club. We must fight for the title. It won’t be easy… but it’s not impossible,” Mokwena stated, signaling clear intent despite the challenges ahead.
The South African tactician also highlighted the club’s ambition and infrastructure, revealing his admiration for the environment he has stepped into.
“One of the best training pitches I’ve ever seen. The investment here is incredible,” he said, pointing to the resources available to drive success.
Beyond football, Mokwena addressed common misconceptions about Libya, offering a different perspective shaped by his experience on the ground.
“It’s strange what people think about Libya from outside… but when you’re here, it’s totally different,” he noted.
As he balances a long-term vision with immediate expectations, Mokwena’s mission at Al Ittihad is clear: deliver results now while building a team capable of sustained success.
