The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has reportedly agreed a major new partnership with global sportswear giant Adidas worth $8.5 million annually.
The agreement will see Adidas become the official kit and equipment partner of Nigeria’s national teams following the expiration of the federation’s current contract with Nike.
Under the terms of the new deal, the NFF is expected to receive $4.5 million in direct cash annually, while Adidas will provide an additional $4 million worth of kits, training gear and other equipment for Nigeria’s various national teams.
The partnership represents a significant commercial boost for Nigerian football, with the country’s senior and youth national teams set to benefit from a fresh supply of sporting equipment and apparel.
The agreement will cover Nigeria’s national teams across different categories, ensuring that the Super Eagles, Super Falcons and other youth teams receive Adidas-branded kits and equipment.
The reported deal also marks the beginning of a new era for the NFF after the conclusion of its relationship with Nike, which has supplied Nigeria’s national teams with some of the most popular and globally recognised football jerseys in recent years.
The move to Adidas is expected to generate significant interest among Nigerian football fans, particularly over the possible designs of the new national team jerseys.
Beyond the financial value of the agreement, the partnership could also strengthen the commercial profile of Nigerian football and provide additional support for the development and preparation of the country’s national teams for major international competitions.
With $4.5 million expected in cash and another $4 million allocated to kits and equipment each year, the Adidas agreement is set to become one of the biggest commercial partnerships in Nigerian football.
