Seko Fofana leaves FC Porto and returns to Rennes

Seko Fofana is set to return to Stade Rennais after FC Porto confirmed the end of the Ivorian midfielder’s loan spell on Friday through its social media channels.

With 3 goals and 1 assist in 12 Liga Portugal matches, the 31-year-old Ivorian international contributed to the Dragon’s run during his time there.

“Your mark will forever be etched on our title. Congratulations on the next step, Fofana,” FC Porto wrote in its farewell message.

Now under contract with Stade Rennais, Seko Fofana is set to reunite with Franck Haise, whom he knew well during his time at RC Lens.

Having also played for Al-Nassr and Al-Ettifaq, the Ivorian midfielder could provide a significant boost of experience for the Breton club ahead of the upcoming season.
