Nigeria’s senior national team, the Super Eagles, have officially commenced preparations in Antalya, Turkey, ahead of their upcoming international friendly matches against the Iran national football team and the Jordan national football team.
As of Tuesday night, 13 players had already arrived at the team’s training camp, signaling an early start to what is expected to be a crucial preparation phase.
Among the first set of arrivals are Alex Iwobi, Paul Onuachu, Moses Simon, and Frank Onyeka, alongside several other invited players.
Also present in camp are Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Yira Sor, Philip Otele, Francis Uzoho, Adebayo Adeleye, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Bruno Onyemaechi, Emmanuel Oluwasegun, and Semi Ajayi.
Team officials confirmed that Samuel Chukwueze and Maduka Okoye are en route and expected to link up with the squad early Wednesday morning, as the team edges closer to a full house of 23 players.
The Super Eagles are camped at the Bellis Deluxe Hotel, where preparations will intensify once all invited players arrive.
The team is scheduled to hold its first official training session on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. local time (2:00 p.m. in Nigeria).
Nigeria will face the Iranian national side on Friday, March 27, at the Antalya Stadium, with kickoff set for 4:00 p.m.
The three-time African champions will then take on Jordan on March 31 in their second friendly fixture, scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
These matches will be the Super Eagles’ first appearances since their impressive third-place finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, and are expected to provide the coaching crew an opportunity to assess squad depth, test new combinations, and fine-tune tactics ahead of upcoming competitive fixtures.
