Preparations for the 2026 TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) have officially gathered pace, with the Super Falcons beginning to assemble in Morocco ahead of the continental tournament.
Nine players have already reported to camp as the team’s build-up enters a crucial phase. Among the early arrivals are captain Rasheedat Ajibade, first-choice goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, and experienced forward Asisat Oshoala, whose presence brings leadership and quality to the squad.
Also in camp are defenders Glory Ogbonna, Oluwatosin Demehin, and Rofiat Imuran, alongside midfielder Christy Ucheibe. Goalkeeper Fatima Oloko and defender Shukurat Oladipo complete the list of the first batch of players to arrive.
The early arrivals are expected to begin training immediately as the coaching crew focuses on fitness, tactical drills, and team cohesion ahead of the competition.
More members of the squad are expected to join the camp in the coming days, with the full complement of players set to intensify preparations before Nigeria begins its quest for another African title.
The Super Falcons, Africa’s most successful women’s national team, will be aiming to add another WAFCON crown to their impressive record as they seek to reaffirm their dominance on the continent.
With the countdown to the tournament underway, expectations remain high that Nigeria’s stars will be fully prepared to challenge for continental glory in Morocco.
