Team Delta State has unveiled its official kits ahead of the 2026 World Teqball Championship Qualifiers, scheduled to take place in Aba, Abia State, from October 29 to 31.

The Delta contingent arrived in Aba on Wednesday, October 28, expressing confidence in its preparations and readiness to compete against other teams for places at the global championship.

Speaking ahead of the qualifiers, Team Delta coach Alex Akpoguma said the players were in good condition and highly motivated to deliver an impressive performance.

Akpoguma explained that the team had trained together for an extended period, expressing optimism about its chances in the competition.

“We have been training together for some time, and I assure Deltans that we are going to give a good account of ourselves, especially with the arrival of Victor Oyemade, Nigeria’s number one-ranked Teqball player from the Middle East,” the coach said.

The team’s arrival in Aba marks the final stage of its preparations for the qualifiers for the ninth edition of the World Teqball Championship.

Akpoguma also expressed appreciation to Marvel Dick, Chairman of the Delta State Teqball Association, for facilitating the team’s participation in the competition.

He equally thanked the Delta State Sports Commission for granting the team permission to use the state’s sports facilities during its preparations.

Oyemade Leads Team Delta’s Charge

Victor Oyemade will lead five other players representing Delta State at the qualifiers. The team comprises Rejoice Jatau, Mikel Enebechukwu, Ogheneegare Ovuirooro, Efemena Ekeke and Miracle Edafe.

Oyemade, who is regarded as Nigeria’s number one-ranked Teqball player, said his development had improved following his move to a club in the Middle East.

His experience and recent progress are expected to strengthen Team Delta’s challenge as the players seek to secure qualification for the international competition.

The team will begin its campaign in Aba on Thursday, October 29, with the qualifiers running until Saturday, October 31.
