Vipers SC set to be crowned Ugandan Premier League champions

For 8th time, Vipers will be crowned StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions as curtains come down in the 2025/26 season.

The Venoms, sealed the title by beating Maroons 3-0 on the penultimate day to get to unassailable points. Before the crowning, the Venoms will take on Express in a crucial match for the visitors who want to finish in the top eight.

With the relegation battle and championship sealed, there is not much to fight on the final day besides three teams; BUL, Express and Maroons who are fighting for one spot in the top eight.

Bul travel to 6th placed Entebbe UPPC who could finish in the top 5 with a win while Maroons are also away to Lugazi. The other contest will be in the golden boot race with KCCA’s Ivan Ahimbisibwe leading the race on 13 goals closely followed by Entebbe UPPC’s Ambrose Kigozi and the Vipers’ duo of Karim Watambala (11) and Usama Arafat (10).

Villa will host UPDF at Kadiba in a precursor to the Uganda Cup final, KCCA host Mbarara City while Kitara host Police at Royals’ Park.
