Senegal crashed out of WAFCON 2026 after playing out a 0-0 draw with Morocco in their final Group A match. The Atlas Lionesses controlled much of the second half but could not find a breakthrough. Morocco still finished the group stage at the top with seven points and secured a place in the quarter-finals.
Morocco came closest to scoring after winning a penalty in the 63rd minute. Yasmin Mbaret stepped up two minutes later, but Senegal goalkeeper Adji Ndiaye produced an excellent save. VAR then ordered the penalty to be retaken after ruling that Ndiaye had moved off her line too early. Mbaret took responsibility again in the 68th minute, but Ndiaye once more denied her from the spot.
Neither side could break the deadlock despite eight minutes of added time. The 0-0 result confirmed Morocco’s place in the quarter-finals as Group A winners, while Senegal’s campaign came to an end with four points. The Atlas Lionesses now move into the knockout stage with strong momentum.
