Ghana’s Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has issued a firm directive to the Ghana national football team technical team ahead of their upcoming international friendlies, stressing that results must take priority over experimentation.
Speaking on preparations for the matches, Adams revealed that he has communicated a clear expectation to the coaching staff: the team must approach the games with a winning mentality rather than using them primarily to assess new players.
“I’ve told the coaches that these two friendlies, we are going with the mindset of winning, not just going to try players,” he stated.
The minister’s comments underline a shift toward accountability and competitiveness within the national setup, as Ghana looks to rebuild confidence and consistency following mixed performances in recent outings.
While friendly matches are traditionally used to test new systems and personnel, Adams’ stance signals the importance being placed on restoring belief among supporters and establishing a strong competitive edge within the squad.
With pressure mounting and expectations high, the Black Stars’ upcoming fixtures now carry added significance—not just as preparation games, but as opportunities to deliver tangible results and reinforce national pride.
