Zambia Super League: Dynamos suffer away defeat against FC Muza

Zambia Super League champions Power Dynamos suffered a 1-0 defeat to FC Muza in an away fixture played in Mazabuka on Saturday.

The match started on a slow note, with both sides looking to break the deadlock. The teams created a few chances but were unable to find the back of the net, with the first half ending 0-0.

Head Coach Osward Mutapa made a change at the break, introducing Chifundo Mphasi for Daniel Adoko as Power Dynamos searched for a breakthrough. However, FC Muza took the lead when a free-kick awarded just outside the penalty area took a deflection off the Power Dynamos defence before Solomon Mpasela struck the ball into the net.

Mutapa responded with a triple substitution in the 63rd minute, bringing on Ismael Edu Ankobo, Titus Chansa and Kondwani Chiboni for Wilson Chisala, Innocent Kashita and Samuel Ayodeji Bamidele, respectively, in an attempt to find an equaliser.

Evans Ogbonda was introduced in the 78th minute, replacing Jackson Mulambia, as the visitors continued their search for a way back into the contest.

The match also saw Mutapa sent off after questioning a decision by the referee. Despite their efforts, Power Dynamos could not find an equaliser, with FC Muza holding on to secure a 1-0 victory. Dynamos will now turn their attention to the Kitwe Derby against Nkana FC, scheduled for Saturday, 31 October, at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
