South African manager Rhulani Mokwena has been announced as the new head coach of Moroccan giants Wydad Atheltic Club.
“Mamelodi Sundowns and Rhulani Mokwena amicably concluded an agreement bringing to an end Rhulani Mokwena’s employment as Head Coach. Sundowns wishes to express its gratitude to Rhulani Mokwena for his contribution to the successes and achievements of the Club during his tenure as Head Coach. Rhulani Mokwena will forever be part of the Mamelodi Sundowns Family and the club wishes him all of the very best with his future endeavours”, Sundowns anounced in a statement earlier this month.
The exit surprised many but Mokwena was in search of a new challenge he has now found in Morocco. “Welcome aboard, Coach Rhulani Mokwena! Ready to lead us to victory”, Wydad Athletic Club wrote in a statement on Thursday.
The 37-year old signed three-year deal with the Casablanca-based outfit and is tasked to conitnue making them great in the continent.
