Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman missed out in Atalanta Serie A opening game of the season as he tries to force his way out of the club.
Lookman who scored a hat trick to help Atalanta win the UEFA Europa League was left out of the the squad as his team thumped Lecce 4-0 on Monday.
Goals from newcomers, Marco Brescianini and Mateo Retegui gave the Europa League holders a hugely impressive start to their Serie A season.

Italy strikers Retegui and Brescianini have stepped up for Atalanta as coach Gian Piero Gasperini deals with injury and two of the stars of a record past season seek transfer opportunities.
Brescianini, who arrived from relegated Frosinone on Friday, replaced Netherlands midfielder Teun Koopmeiners, who wants to join Juventus.
The 24-year-old scored 10 minutes before halftime after Wladimiro Falcone stopped Retegui’s header, and he calmly rolled home the fourth in the 66th minute.
Retegui was signed from Genoa after Italy teammate Gianluca Scamacca ruptured his ACL earlier this month, and he scored his first goal seconds before halftime with a bullet header from Matteo Ruggeri’s cross.
The Argentina-born striker then got a penalties, which he converted in the 57th minute after Lassana Coulibaly took him down clumsily.
Atalanta put on a show of power on Monday, having won their first European title – their first major award of any kind since 1963 – in May.
Atalanta have since been hit with serious injuries to both Scamacca and star defender Giorgio Scalvini, with a clutch of other players also sidelined.
